Colorado businesses prepare for Black Friday shopping

CASTLE ROCK — Black Friday is no longer the unique shopping day it once was, but businesses are still decorating the hallways for the holiday even though deals have already begun.

Traditionally, Black Friday was marked by long lines in freezing temperatures, with shoppers camping out overnight for the best deals.

While the experience still exists in select stores, shoppers can now take advantage of numerous online deals throughout the month, reshaping the way shoppers participate in the frenzy.

“I’m not a big shopper per se, so I don’t want to wait in line for hours for something, I don’t have the patience or I don’t care,” said Stacy Voss, a customer. .

“I don’t like being crushed by a lot of people…it makes me uncomfortable,” Kathleen Etter said.

According to the National Retail Federation, between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday, it is estimated that more than 183 million Americans will shop in-store and online.
