Some Northeast Ohio residents are bracing for up to 3 feet of snow this holiday weekend

Mentor-On-The-Lake, Ohio (WOIO) – Up to three feet of snow is forecast for parts of Northeast Ohio this holiday weekend, and we found a few people who took the time to prepare for heavy snow. .

Kat McCroskey of Jefferson wants to make sure she has enough gas.

“I’ve heard we’re supposed to get a lot of snow, but we’re in Northeast Ohio — that’s to be expected,” McCroskey said. “That’s why I’m going to make sure I have enough gas, so if I need to go somewhere, my four-wheel drive will take me where I need to go.”

Terry Reckart of Geneva tells me his belly is full from a Thanksgiving feast and he wants to make sure his gas tank is full, too.

“They said we could have up to 12 inches by Monday if you’re in the snow belt,” Reckart said. “You take what you get. Be prepared.

Mentor-On-The-Lake Fire Captain Justin Corbe says there are other things you can do to prepare and items should be loaded into your car if the trip becomes dangerous.

“If you don’t have to leave the house, don’t drive. But if you do, make sure you have salt, a small shovel, blankets, batteries and a flashlight,” Captain Corbe said. “Because if you’re stuck, you don’t know how long it will take for a tow truck to get to you.
