STATEMENT FROM TD JAKES

Serving God’s people is an extraordinary privilege, and Sunday was no exception as I gave my all to deliver the message God has placed on my heart. Even when I felt the weight of my humanity and still managed to get through it, it reminds me that even the strongest must rely on its strength.

I thank the Lord that I did not have a stroke, but the event could have been fatal without God’s intervention. A special thank you to God and to the healthcare professionals in our city whose speed and expertise were beyond exceptional. My job is to recover and reflect on God’s protection. I owe it to my wonderful family and church members to rest and ruminate while He restores me to His service. As God calls us to honor the Sabbath, I am reminded that rest is not a weakness – it is a divine gift.

As I continue to be strengthened by His grace, I am in awe of my family and the amazing leadership team around me. Together, we move forward, resolutely in the work that the Lord has entrusted to us. I have heard friends from the global community express God’s love in amazing ways! God’s faithfulness was unmistakable to everyone present.

I am forever touched by your outpouring of love and support. I will always do my best. May his presence continue to guide and support you and bring you peace and protection.
