The Jaipur Literature Festival returns for its 18th edition from January 30 to February 3. Ahead of its arrival in the Pink City, Teamwork Arts stood in Delhi to give a sneak peek of what to expect this year. One of the sessions will be an interaction between film critic Anupama Chopra and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali on cinema and everything in between.

According to the official website, the 2025 edition of the Jaipur Literature Festival will continue its tradition of fostering literary thought and engaging with the most relevant global themes. Bringing together prominent voices from literature, politics, science and the arts, the Festival will be a forum for diverse perspectives and meaningful exchange. The Festival will be the premier space for intellectual engagement, where ideas are debated and stories shared.

Last year, in an exclusive interview with Firstpost, author Nandini Das spoke about her experience at the festival and said, “I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was wonderful. I knew it would be huge and crowded. It’s glorious because I see so many young people. I also saw a few in school uniform. They benefit from great visibility on literature from around the world.

On how poet, scholar and soldier John Donne inspired her

At this year’s JLF, the author spoke about Donne’s work and, when asked about it, she said: “I discovered his poetry when I was at school in West Bengal. He was an overconfident know-it-all and I was exactly like that at 14. He was also lucid and wanted to know the truth. Donne is not someone who embellishes poetry, he says things as they are and that is what makes his poetry beautiful.
