South Korean investigators summon Yoon again for questioning

A South Korean joint investigation team including police has issued a summons to deposed President Yoon Suk-yeol to appear next week for questioning over the short-lived martial law he declared earlier this month. here.

This is the second time that the joint team has made this request. This was also the case on Wednesday.

The team announced Friday that it had sent the summons by express mail and electronically. Yoon was summoned for questioning at the Corruption Investigation Office for Senior Officials, or CIO, at 10 a.m. next Wednesday.

Yonhap News Agency reported that the team was looking into charges of insurrection and abuse of power against Yoon.
Several teams had investigated the matter and issued summons separately before the parties involved agreed that the IOC would lead the investigation. Yoon refused to receive them all. The president’s defense lawyers criticized the investigation team, saying it needed to be streamlined.

Yonhap said the IOC may consider seeking an arrest warrant to arrest Yoon if he continues to ignore the summons without good cause.
