HARRISBURG — On Tuesday, January 7, Senator Cris Dush (R-25) was sworn in to begin his second term serving the people of Pennsylvania’s 25th Senate District.

“We are still blessed to live in the greatest country in the world,” Dush said. “Our founders created a government by the people, for the people, free from out-of-touch politicians and the coercion of special interests. It is extremely imperative that we strengthen our election laws to preserve our most fundamental right to self-government: honest, transparent, and secure elections. The people who elected me to serve them deserve nothing less.

As a state senator and re-elected chairman of the Senate State Government Committee, his priorities include restoring election integrity, reducing government spending and excessive regulation, balancing the budget, and fighting against tax increases. As the inaugural Chairman of the PA Senate Second Amendment Caucus, Dush is a strong supporter of our God-given right to keep and bear arms and will continue to work to protect Pennsylvanians’ constitutional rights and freedoms which they enjoy.

Here Dush talks about constitutional rights, checks and balances and his role as a state senator.

As the lead sponsor of Senate Bill 44 which was unanimously advanced and signed into law (Act 39 of 2023) to ensure that sexually exploited child victims of human trafficking always have full access to services and support needed, Dush will continue to lead on high-priority bipartisan priorities. , anti-human trafficking initiatives during the 2025-2026 legislative session.

A retired law enforcement officer, Dush was also instrumental in securing dedicated budget funding to create the Human Trafficking Section of the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.

“While other forms of government rely on the use of totalitarian tyranny to make subjects of the people, constitutional republics like ours rely on a written declaration of ‘We the People’ as to the form of government that we will accept,” Douceur said. “I will continue to defend our God-given rights, uphold our shared values, and fight for every citizen residing in the 25th Senate District.”
