An incredible twist of fate could be about to happen in the Premier League.

It’s exactly nine years to the day since Jamie Vardy broke a seemingly impossible record in England’s top flight by scoring in 11 consecutive matches.

Vardy scored his 11th consecutive match against Manchester United in 2015 during the campaign in which the Foxes would eventually win the title.

But what record did Vardy break that day? Ruud van Nistelrooy.

And who is widely reported to be Leicester’s new manager with an announcement later today? You guessed it – Ruud.

This coincidence can surely only be a good sign for the East Midlands team.
