Rental companies prepare houses for masters after Helene

Augusta, Ga. (WRDW / WAGT) – Masters are getting closer, but the time to rent your home is now.

After Hurgagan Hélène, house owners on the other side of the CSRA run to finish all repairs at home.

We spoke to two house rental companies here in appearance of this year.

When you drive in the CSRA, you always see a city trying to recover and prepare for its biggest week of the year that is only in a few months.

Despite what the city looks like today, rental companies say they do everything they can to work with the owners to ensure that their homes are ready to leave for customers in April.

It is a week that everyone wants to be in Augusta.

“People will always come to the Masters,” said Stacey Greenway, vice-president of Tournament Housing and Events LLC. “No posts will never be unused.”

With the tournament just a few months old – everyone is trying to prepare.

“We had owners who are just overwhelmed to try to prepare for the house for the masters because they are dealing with roofs that are, you know, have holes and debris and all the outdoor structures are damaged, “said Kelly Starr, Director of Operations and Events of Corporate Quarters.

The owners, the rental companies and the entrepreneurs have a long list of tasks before April.

“We just have to accept that the landscape will be different in the backyards. You know, the houses with privacy may no longer have this, “said Greenway.

Change the criteria from outside the houses and ask for the patience of golf customers this spring.

“I have already prepared some of our customers that there could be houses that have plots on their roofs,” said Greenway. “It will not affect the comfort of the boss. This will not affect their ability to watch the tournament. »»

But they always do everything they can to make sure their houses are ready.

“Our greatest concern is in March in March, there will be owners who call and saying: Oops, I thought that my entrepreneur would be ready and they will not be ready, so we must reimburse the money,” said Greenway.

Even if some houses are not ready, others go up to rent who have never done it before – even as far as Aiken and Lake Ocone.

“We have people who register by saying, you know, I know that there are a lot of houses that are damaged. We have never rented before and now we think it could be our opportunity to go there, “said Greenway.

Even if the appearance of the city can be different, the community and hospitality are always the same.

“I really think it is a real testimony to Georgia and Augusta and everyone wants to be very hospitable,” said Starr. “This is why they call it the hospitality of the South. They are delighted to prepare their houses and have something to hope. »»

They say that they do not expect to have to rent as far as Lake Ocone and Modoc due to the number of new houses under construction and the increase in new people who wish to rent in Augusta, but it is good to know that this is an option if necessary.
