Stowmarket Christmas cake extravaganza nets £13,400

Ms Price wrapped each of the 137 cakes, which were displayed in the charity shop for two weeks.

She said every cake sold, along with funding from Precon Products Ltd, would help fund a nurse’s visit to someone’s home over Christmas to make sure they were comfortable and pain-free .

“What is Christmas, if it’s not something like this,” she asked.

Ms Price said they would wait until next year before planning a repeat of the extravaganza in 2025.

“We’re still waiting for Easter to start talking about it because we’re only a small club, we need to see what our numbers are.”
