King Charles and David Beckham appear to be growing closer as the monarch bestowed a special honor on the sportsman.

The former England football legend attended his first state banquet alongside his wife, Victoria, on Tuesday. This comes after David was named ambassador for the King’s Foundation.

However, Beckhams’ appearance at the major tournament has sparked speculation that the athlete could be one step closer to his long-awaited knighthood.

However, an insider claimed that was not the case as former England manager Gareth Southgate would receive the accolade this time around.

“That’s not going to happen for David this time,” the source said. Daily Mail.

“It’s a big hurray for Gareth and David is delighted for him. David knew it wouldn’t be his time and he’s fine with that, but you never know what will happen.”

It was reported that David hoped to become a knight, especially after the special invitation to the state banquet held for the Emir of Qatar and his wife.

David was denied a knighthood during the reign of Queen Elizabeth due to allegations of tax fraud and international financial dealings.

However, now that the co-owner of the InterMiami football team is already forming close ties not only with the monarch but also with the future king, Prince William.
