Hull and East Yorkshire volunteers receive £200,000 in lottery cash

Hull and East Yorkshire volunteers receive £200,000 in lottery cash

Money from the Heritage Innovation Fund will be spent over the next two years on recruitment, training and new equipment and resources.

Councilor Rob Pritchard, from Hull City Council, said: “I would like to congratulate the team at HEY! Volunteers for this grant.

“The program continues to prove incredibly popular and, as a volunteer myself, I can’t wait to see how it develops and grows with this additional support.”

In August, a group of volunteers traveled to London on Yorkshire Day to hand out white roses and Hull chip spice.

They also handed out white postcards to try to persuade people to visit the area.
