As a young person from Cape Town, I owe it to myself to be a part of more spaces filled with young people, which I undeniably admit I have not been in very sadly.

The ComUnity Festival marks my first ever youth event and man, they did not disappoint. Nothing can compare to the energy and excitement of this year’s festival. Held at the iconic Old Biscuit Mill on December 16, the event was an unforgettable celebration of youth, music, fashion and food, with Jack and Coke leading the way as headline sponsors.

The atmosphere was electrifying from the moment I arrived. Featuring a mix of emerging and established artists such as Felo le Tee, Pierre Johnson and Lenneth Bowers who were by far my favorite showcases of the evening. ComUnity is truly a place where fashion, music and culture come together to create a unique experience.

I had the opportunity to witness what it means to let go and have fun and of course it surprises me because I didn’t know I had that in me. I then proudly took home some moves that I can only credit to the team at Jack and Coke, as they curated some unexpected experiences throughout the day I was sitting (or rather not long time because I participated in the party) in their section.

The Jack and Coke collaboration between smooth Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and cool Coca-Cola has been the perfect match since 1907, resulting in a “perfect pairing that now goes together wherever you go,” which made so much sense to include it at the festival. .
