Search underway for missing British woman after she disappeared while partying at street festival in St Lucia

A British tourist has disappeared in Saint Lucia after attending a street party on the Caribbean island, according to local police.

Jemima Colenso, 33, lives on a boat called Lola moored at Rodney Bay Marina in the north of the island.

She was last seen at a street party in Gros Islet on Friday around 11:26 p.m., according to the Royal Saint Lucia Police.

The missing British woman was wearing a brown-orange short pantsuit at the time of her disappearance, police said.

Her last Instagram post was shared three days ago and shows her smiling at the helm of a yacht.

Ms Colenso is originally from Somerset where she ran a pottery business.

Police are said to have launched a massive search for Ms Colenso and are working “around the clock” to find her.

A street vendor who has worked at the popular street party for 25 years expressed his shock at the young woman’s disappearance.

“People come from all over the world to celebrate and we don’t expect them to disappear,” the seller said in The Sun as said.

“Everyone comes here to have a good time and be happy. I hope this young lady is found soon so we don’t have to worry.

“The police have always done a good job keeping everyone in this city safe and protected.”
