Instagram constantly updates its features to improve user experiences. Recently, the platform, owned by Meta, has worked on a new feature aimed at reducing offensive comments. Many users have noticed a new “Aboupre” button appearing when they travel comments on publications and coils. The head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, confirmed on the wires that a aversion button is indeed in development.

This new button will be available on regular messages and coils, but it will not show a statement of aversion, which means that others will not be able to see how many people have hated a comment. However, total aversions will influence the way comments are classified. This decision is similar to the approach of Youtube, which eliminated the counts of the aversion visible in 2021.

Mosseri explained that the lead button allows users to express their disapproval of certain comments in private and could help create a more positive atmosphere in the Instagram comments section.

An Instagram spokesperson Christine Pai said they were currently testing the Aboupon button with a small group of users.

Meanwhile, Meta announced the launch of Instagram teenage accounts in India, designed to provide a safer online environment for adolescents. This new feature includes confidentiality parameters, limited interactions and orders for parents, ensuring that young users can enjoy a secure experience on the platform.

To help the security teenagers, Meta has created an age verification system to ensure that minors accurately represent their age.

For users under the age of 16 (or under 18 in certain circumstances), Instagram adolescent accounts are delivered with several automatically activated safety features. These include private accounts, messaging restrictions, sensitive content control, limited time limit reminders and sleep mode.

Overall, these changes aim to create a more secure experience and age for young users on Instagram.
