THE Prologue Honda continued his meteoric rise in the ranks of the United States electric vehicle sales in November and now only two Tesla titans in the American market.

Electrek reported on the fully electric SUV which he called a “surprise success”. Honda sold a record 6,823 Prologue units in November, trailing only the Tesla Model Y And Model 3according to the latest report from Cox Automotive Electric Vehicle Market Monitoring Report. This comes on top of an impressive third quarter of 2024 in which the Prologue placed in the top five in electric vehicle sales in the United States.

The Prologue’s appeal is multi-layered. On the one hand, the vehicle has a reasonable starting price of $47,400. Better yet, drivers are entitled to full federal tax credit of $7,500 through the inflation reduction law. This can bring the price down to just under $40,000, with Honda sweetening the deal by offering incentives such as lease money, as noted by Electrek.

Full credit is available through a partnership with General Motors which guarantees that the cars are made in the United States. The Prologue is built on GM’s EV platform, previously known as Ultium, which offers a range of 296 miles and a reliable framework for Honda to work with.

Electrek cited Honda’s “iconic design and features” as a brand differentiator. These include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, large infotainment and driver display screens, and a “sporty” ride generated by a multi-link front and rear suspension. Honda’s solid reputation and popular vehicles like the CR-V and Accord are likely entering consumers’ minds as well.

For drivers, the switch to an EV is increasingly attractive as brands like honda add interesting and affordable options to the crowded market. Electric vehicle drivers can expect reduced maintenance costsmajor fuel savingsand a reduction in pollution from individual exhaust pipes which contributes to dirtier air. There is a host of little-known benefits Also.

Electrek commentators had their own take on the Prologue’s success.

“It’s a nice design that doesn’t scream ‘ELECTRIC’ – the price is right…and the range is right at that magic 300 mile mark for most versions,” said one user. asserted.

“Most people want value and reliability,” said one reader said. “Thanks to GM it has great specs and Honda has a reputation for quality.”
