TTD bans political speeches in Tirumala, warns of legal action against violators

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has decided to ban political speeches within the precincts of temples under its care in order to protect the sanctity and spiritual peace of these sacred places.

The decision would have came in response to a growing trend of politicians using the temple as a platform for political rhetoric and criticism of opponents.

TTD said such political activities were disturbing the spiritual atmosphere in Tirumala.

TTD also issued a stern warning, stating that legal action will be taken against violators and those who spread such statements.

“In the sacred divine temple of Tirumala, which always resonates with Govinda Namas, in recent times, some people and political leaders after darshan in Tirumala temple, are making political and hateful statements in front of the media in front of the temple, disturbing the spiritual . atmosphere in Tirumala,” said a TTD spokesperson. quoted as said NDTV.

The Tirumala temple body appealed to everyone to cooperate with the decision and threatened legal action against the violators.

Besides, the TTD also announced that local residents of Tirupati will benefit from Srivari Darshan on December 3 at Tirumala.

The tokens will be issued at Mahathi Auditorium in Tirupati and Tirumala Community Hall at 5 am on Sunday.

In its inaugural meeting on November 18, the TTD board decided to provide Srivari darshan to residents on the first Tuesday of every month.

Residents of Tirupati Urban, Tirupati Rural, Chandragiri, Renigunta as well as Tirumala mandals can get tokens by showing their Aadhaar card.
