Remaining warm today, but following several fronts this week

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Happy Monday morning! This morning we started the day cool with mostly clear skies, but for the week ahead we are tracking several fronts that will likely impact some travel for the holidays.

This afternoon, temperatures climb above average with readings in the mid 70s under partly sunny skies. The first front of the week will arrive starting overnight and early Tuesday. This will be the best shot of a few patchy/scattered showers in the area with temperatures in the 70s.

This front clears temperatures dropping into the 40s Wednesday morning with increasing clouds throughout the day.

The second, stronger front moves through the area on Thanksgiving Day with scattered showers and storms. There is some uncertainty over whether some of these storms could be strong or severe under current projections.

The long-range forecast gets much colder with overnight lows dipping into the 30s, ultimately giving rise to our first frost of the season. Afternoon highs are expected to drop into the 50s.
