The Upei Panthers female hockey team beats the Eagles of Moncton Blue

The Upei Panthers organized an exciting rally of third period on February 5 to take two important points in the race for the last place in the playoffs of the Atlantic University Sport female hockey conference (AUS).

The goal of Avery Penner at 9:51 am from the third period noted Upei in 2-2 equality with the Moncton Blue Eagles, preparing the land for the winning goal of Orianna Macneil with 29 seconds to play in regulatory time.

Equal and green light goals for the panthers were scored on the power game.

The 3-2 victory, which occurred in Maclauchlan Arena in Charlottetown, improved the record of the Panthers at 11-10-2-2 (defeats of extension of the extension). Upei took a draw with the Huskies of Saint Mary (10-8-1-2) for the sixth and final playoffs.

Against Moncton, Kierra St. Peter also scored for the Panthers, who received assists from McKinley Nelson (2), Macneil, Chloe McCabe, Sadie Brown and Julia Cey.

Emilie Comeau and Maritza Labrie have countered for Moncton (14-8-2-1).

The panthers led 1-0 after the first period, and the teams entered the second intermission equally 1-1.

Winning goalkeeper Sarah Forsythe stopped 30 of the 32 shots. Annick Boudreau diverted 25 of the 28 shots for Moncton.

The panthers finished with an electric game summary 2 for 5 while Moncton went 1 for 3.

Men

In the action of male hockey aus on February 5, the Panthers abandoned a 3-2 decision at the Huskies of Saint Mary in Halifax.

Panthers have surpassed Huskies 36-23, including the advantages of the period of 15-7, 11-8 and 10-8.

Nathan Dunkley, Derek Gentile and Bradey Johnson marked for the Huskies (15-10-2-0).

Kaleb Pearson and Ben McFarlane responded for the Panthers (9-17-0-1). Kurtis Henry, Chase Lammi, Elias Cohen and Leon Denny participated in assists.

The Huskies built tracks of 2-1 and 3-1.

Justin Sumarah won the goalkeeper victory with an effort of 34 jumps. Jakob Robillard made 20 stops for Upei.

The Huskies were 1 for 3 on the power game while Upei went 0 for 5 with the advantage of man.

Panthers are back in action on February 8 against the Acadia Axen (11-13-1-1). The time of the game in Maclauchlan Arena is 7 p.m.
