Yellowstone Fan Theory Changes Everything About Taylor Sheridan’s Travis

Yellowstone Fan Theory Changes Everything About Taylor Sheridan’s Travis

Thanks to a limited episode for Yellowstone’s final season, many fans were upset to see so much of Taylor Sheridan’s Travis Wheatley – but one theory could make Travis a completely different character.

Anyone who also watched 1883 or Lioness will know that Taylor Sheridan is not above put yourself in his shows. Beginning his acting career, Sheridan’s on-screen legacy isn’t as big as his creative world, but he certainly gives birth to characters you won’t soon forget.

When it comes to Yellow stoneTravis is perhaps Sheridan’s most extravagant creation to date. The cowboy superstar often comes to sell the Duttons a horse worth more than $1 million, and on the final season of Yellowstone, he showed up to save the Dutton Ranch auction.

Viewers weren’t too happy to see so much of Travis (especially when it was a poker scene in episode 13), but there’s a fan theory that could completely change its focus.

Jimmy could instead be Taylor Sheridan’s self-insert

When it came to Travis, many fans assumed he was Taylor Sheridan’s “self-insert” character. A cowboy and rancher himself, Sheridan is not much different from his Yellowstone counterpart. As such, its inclusion in the past has been seen as pandering.

However, one theory suggests that Travis isn’t Sheridan’s self-insert at all. Actually, it might be Jimmy.

“I think Jimmy is TS’s self-insert character,” Reddit user explain. “I know he actually inserted himself into the show as Travis, but Travis is a pretty empty character who was clearly originally written as a cameo. I think Taylor really wants to be Rip, but who he East It’s Jimmy.

Jimmy begins his life in Yellowstone as a down-on-his-luck drug dealer. After his grandfather implores John Dutton to give him a job and a purpose, Jimmy is picked up, branded, and given a new role on the ranch. He doesn’t take life easy, but by the end of the series he is a real cowboy working on the famous 6666 ranch.

It’s an underdog story through and through, and this theory suggests that Jimmy’s origin is more similar to Sheridan’s than Travis’.

“According to his Wiki page, TS was ‘the rare weekend wrestler who was also a theater kid.’ He’s also short (not quite 5’9″) and quite awkward,” they continued. “Jimmy being his replacement, all the nonsense like two hot barrel racers fighting over him makes a lot more sense, as well as the storyline with Jimmy being sent to 6666 where he can be verbally abused into becoming a ‘real’ cowboy. by Travis.

“Jimmy follows Travis around like a puppy and sort of hero-worships him, which goes, ‘Ha, old loser version of myself, look how cool I am now.'”

Responses to the post range from agreement to disbelief, with some suggesting Beth could also be Sheridan’s dream character.

Either way, it’s an interesting theory that might be worth keeping in mind when Travis and Jimmy inevitably appear in the next spinoff, 6666.
