Pinaka system: Evolution, precision and global recognition

The Pinaka rocket system has drawn attention not only for its strategic importance to improve India’s defense capacities, but also as a symbol of self -sufficiency in accordance with the government’s vision “ Aatmanirbhar Bharat ”. Developed by the organization of defense research and development (DRDO), the system has experienced remarkable upgrades since its creation.

Initially deployed during the 1999 Kargil War, the Pinaka was designed to replace the BM-21 Grad BM-21 rocket launcher from the Soviet era. The system advanced capacities, such as the dismissal 12 rockets in rapid succession with a range of up to 60 km, have made it a vital asset for India.

The guided version of the Pinaka further improves its precision, allowing precise targeting of enemy positions. DRDO’s future plans include the increase in its range beyond 120 km, with projections reaching up to 200 km. This progression is crucial to counter the long -range long -range rocket systems used by regional opponents.

While the global demand for advanced defense systems increases, the Pinaka has drawn international attention. In particular, France and Armenia explore the possibility of buying the system. France, a long-standing defense partner in India, is particularly interested in the Pinaka Mbrl (Multiple barrel rocket launcher). The purchase of Armenia also highlights the strategic value of the system in regional conflicts, in particular its ability to strike several targets with a rapid succession.
