It is best known for millions of OrientalSonia Fowlerbut Natalie Cassidy is worlds far from his soap character in his latest project.

The actress – who announced last month that she had left BBC soap after 32 years – should appear as a teacher in the second series of popular comedy residents.

The show follows five school London students after winning elite scholarships at St. Gilbert’s school.

The first series made its criticism of criticism last year and returned for a second release on BBC Three and Iplayer earlier this week.

In this document, Natalie appears as an eccentric teacher of a rival school called Sharon Hail.

Speaking of her new role, Natalie said: “ I loved the resident series and I was so delighted to be invited to appear in the two series.

“There is such a talent among all the actors and the team and I loved playing a very eccentric teacher. Don’t miss him!

Speaking of his role, Alan said, “I have always said that letting people know that you are one of them is a good idea. And it was therefore with the residents.

“I mentioned this to the producers (who also produced the traitors), and very shortly after, I found myself on the set of fun!”

The creator of the residents Daniel Lawrence Taylor added: “ The welcome of the fantastic Alan Cumming and Natalie Cassidy in St. Gilbert’s was an absolute pleasure and they were a joy to work with it.

“I can’t wait for viewers to see what they have done on campus!”

At the end of January, Natalie confirmed in a statement that she had left Eastenders.

“I feel extremely sad to write this, but also very excited,” she said.

“After 11 years, 11 years ago in the place, I decided it was time to go to new pastures. Eastenders is in my bones, so I will never forget where I started my career and I will continue to love the show.

“Thanks to Chris Clenshaw for the opportunity for being such a large part of the 40th anniversary – this is an honor. See you, Sonia, go but never forgotten.
