Apple Intelligence: New iPhone and Mac functionality
According to Apple, Apple Intelligence understands and creates language and images, acts across applications, and draws on personal context, simplifying and accelerating everyday tasks.
Apple’s first batch of Apple Intelligence features launched Monday for eligible devices.
Apple users can benefit from AI features on iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices capable of running the technology through the latest software update of their operating system. the tech giant said.
These devices include this one from Apple the entire iPhone 16 rangeas well as the “iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad with A17 Pro or M1 and later, and Mac with M1 and later,” according to Apple.
The update to bring Apple Intelligence to devices – iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 – can be launched through the “software updates” sections of their Settings app. The AI features can be used in “most parts of the world when the device and Siri language are set to US English,” it says.

“Writing tools” will also be available on devices as part of the Apple Intelligence update.
This helps users by providing rewriting, proofreading and text summarization capabilities, according to Apple. It can be used in Mail, Messages and other applications.

Apple customers can also use new notification summaries “that allow users to scan long or stacked notifications with key details right on the lock screen,” the company said. Apple is adding features like “Priority Messages” and “Focus, Reduce Interruptions.”
Apple Intelligence will also provide updates to Siri, according to the tech giant.
Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, said the batch of AI features introduced Monday “is just the beginning,” with the company saying it intends to introduce more in December and subsequent months. ChatGPT access via Writing Tools and Siri, for example, will arrive in December.
Apple executives said in August that Launch of Apple Intelligence would be “scaled” for features and languages.
The introduction of Apple Intelligence features on Apple devices has been highly anticipated since the company unveiled the system for the first time at its Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
The company generated $224.9 billion in net sales from its various products during the first three quarters of the year. At the same time, the services generated net revenue of approximately $71.2 billion.
