Emotional moment Thai Organges Hug Family as they return to Bangkok after a year which will be held hostage in Gaza

Five Thai citizens found their families in Bangkok after spending more than a year as offices in Gaza.

Sarusak Rumnao, 32, Watchara Sriaoun, 33, Sathian Suwannakham, 35, Pongsak Thaenna, 36, and Bannawat Saethao, 27, were released on January 31 as part of a cease-le-le-feu arrangement Between Israel and Hamas.

The five Thai people, who all worked in Israel before being kidnapped by Hamas during its fatal foray on October 7, 2023, were adopted by their full families when they arrived at Suvarnabhumi airport in the Thai capital.

Pongsak Thaenna told a press conference at the airport: “We are all very grateful and very happy that we returned to our homeland. We would all like to thank you. I don’t know what to say else.

Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sagniampongsa, who attended the arrival of hostages, said the Thai government had never abandoned hope and here is the result today. Tears of joy are our encouragement.

He added that Bangkok was still working to secure the release of the remaining Thai hostage, Nattapong Pingsa, whose status is still unknown.

A total of 36 Thai people were killed by Hamas on October 7, according to the Thai Foreign Affairs Ministry, while 31 others were taken hostage.

Of this number, 23 were released in November 2023 during an early ceasefire agreement.

Since then, two other Thai hostages have been confirmed dead.

With the five Thai hostages, or Levy, Eli Sharabi and Ohad Ben Ami, aged 34, 52 and 56, were paraded on a stage of Deir El-Balah, Central Gaza, before they were returned to the Cross -Red to be taken in Israel.

The president of Israel, Isaac Herzog, described the liberation ceremony as cynical and vicious. “This is what a crime against humanity looks like,” he said.

In response to Hamas’ military wing, Qassam’s brigades said it “made efforts to preserve their lives despite the (Israeli) bombardment”.
