Realme GT 7 Pro gets a big discount on Flipkart, but is it worth buying?

The Realme GT 7 Pro, launched just a month ago, has received a notable price cut on Flipkart. Initially priced at Rs 59,999, the phone is now available for Rs 56,999, offering a flat discount of Rs 3,000 with no additional conditions. However, this offer is limited to the black color variant. Although the discounted price adds to its appeal, is the Realme GT 7 Pro worth buying? Here’s a breakdown.

Realme GT 7 Pro gets a big discount on Flipkart, but is it worth buying?

The Realme GT 7 Pro offers premium design, solid performance, and impressive battery life. Powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, it delivers solid gaming performance and smooth multitasking. However, the device struggles to handle heat under heavy loads, like running benchmarks like 3DMark or playing intensive games like Genshin Impact for extended periods of time. A software update could potentially resolve this issue, improving heat dissipation and reducing performance throttling.

One of the main strengths of the phone is its battery life. It has a 5,800 mAh battery that lasted over 20 hours in our PCMark benchmark test. In the real world, you can expect almost 9 hours of screen time, and the phone lasts almost a day. Additionally, support for 120W fast charging ensures fast recharges, which adds to its convenience.

The 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution is another highlight, offering a 120Hz refresh rate, 6,500 nits peak brightness, and Corning Glass 7i protection. The screen offers vibrant visuals and smooth scrolling. It is bright enough whether you are indoors or outdoors. The Realme GT 7 Pro is also IP69 rated, making it more water and dust resistant than other high-end smartphones, including iPhones.

On the camera front, the Realme GT 7 Pro delivers decent photos in well-lit conditions but struggles in low-light conditions. Its ultra-wide camera is usable, but not exceptional. Overall, the camera’s performance is good in good lighting but doesn’t stand out at the price.

The design of the Realme GT 7 Pro has also seen notable improvements over the previous GT 6 series. The new matte finished rear panel offers a sleek and subtle look, especially in the black color variant. The large rectangular camera module on the back adds a sleek touch but protrudes slightly, causing the phone to wobble when placed flat. With flat bezels and gently curved edges, the device is comfortable to hold.

In conclusion, the Realme GT 7 Pro, with its recent price reduction, offers a compelling combination of design, performance and durability, making it a strong contender in its price range. However, if thermal performance is a major concern, it may be worth waiting for a software update. Additionally, users should note that the camera performance is decent but not top-notch, and the phone does not support wireless charging. For those whose needs match its strengths, the Realme GT 7 Pro remains a good option.
