Kamloops news: Suspect wanted in armed robbery a few days before Christmas

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Kamloops, British Columbia, days before Christmas.

Kamloops RCMP said the theft was reported at a business in the 1300 block of Hillside Drive around 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 22.

Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said officers responded quickly and were able to arrest one suspect, who was already wanted on several arrest warrants, but another suspect remained outstanding.

“Based on the investigation, police believe two people were involved,” Evelyn said in a news release.

“We are releasing an image of the outstanding suspect in hopes that someone will recognize him and contact the detachment as soon as possible.”

Kamloops RCMP described the suspect as a “light-skinned” man who was wearing dark shoes, black pants, a beige jacket over a black hoodie and a black hat with a white logo at the time of the incident.

He was also carrying a square shoulder bag and a blue gym bag or backpack, the detachment said.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the suspect to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000, quoting file number 2024-41520.
