Music promoter charged in G Herbo case sentenced to nearly 3 years in prison

BOSTON — A south suburban man who identified himself as a music promoter in the G Herbo fraud case has been sentenced to nearly three years in federal prison.

Antonio Strong, 32, of Orland Park, was sentenced Tuesday to 34 months in prison after being indicted along with Chicago rapper G Herbo and four other co-defendants in October 2020.

Strong was accused of conspiring with G Herbo and the other defendants to defraud numerous businesses and individuals by obtaining and using unauthorized and stolen payment card account information to obtain valuable goods and services.

Some of the items purchased include private jet and yacht rentals, luxury car rentals, luxury hotels and vacation rentals, private chef and security guard services, designer puppies, services limousine and chauffeur service and commercial flights.

This happened between March 2016 and September 2020 and the companies were not paid after each of the fraud victims disputed their accusations.

Strong was ordered to forfeit more than $2.1 million to pay restitution in the same amount.

To conceal his identity and perpetrate the fraud, Strong used various false names, provided false driver’s licenses in the names of fictitious and real people, and used email accounts in the names of fictitious and real businesses.

G Herbo and two of the co-defendants, Williams and Sorrells, were already sentenced to three years of probation earlier this year.

Bender is expected to plead guilty next month and Hayes Jr. is awaiting trial, according to federal authorities.
