Beatles legend Paul McCartney announces new solo album | Music | Entertainment

On Thursday night, Sir Paul McCartney wrapped up his Got Back tour with an epic finale show at London’s O2 Arena.

Beatles fans were delighted when Sir Ringo Starr joined Macca on stage for Sgt Pepper’s and Helter Skelter during the encore.

As he prepares for a well-deserved Christmas break after finishing his post-pandemic world tour, Sir Paul answered some questions from fans.

Posted today on his official website, the latest asked the 82-year-old music icon: “Do you have any New Year’s resolutions for 2025?”

And it turns out Macca is working on a new solo album.

Sir Paul’s last disc of new material was 2020’s McCartney III, in the tradition of 1970’s McCartney and 1980’s McCartney II, in which he sings and plays on all instruments on all tracks. Nearly five years after releasing his lockdown album, he released the 2021 remix record McCartney III Imagined, featuring other artists covering McCartney III tracks. More recently, he released the live studio album One Hand Clapping almost 50 years after recording the Wings record. Now it looks like we could hear his latest solo album as early as this time next year.

Answer question about New Year’s resolutions for 2025Macca responded today: “Here’s one: finish an album! I worked on a lot of songs and had to put them aside because of the tour. So I’m hoping to get back into it and finish a lot of these songs. So what about this? “My New Year’s resolution is to finish a new album! »How about that for a teaser? You can do it, Paul!
