The OK Tire Buck-a-Tire campaign returned this year, and Nakehndan: Know Your Truth was thrilled to be the recipient of this community initiative. This winter, for every tire sold in November, $1 was donated to Nakehndan: Knowing Your Truth, helping to raise $1,277 to support their important work with sexual assault survivors and their families.

Nakehndan: Knowing Your Truth is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping sexual assault survivors and their families heal together as a unit. Funds raised through the Buck-a-Tire campaign will directly support their programs and services, which aim to empower individuals, promote healing and provide a safe space for survivors to rebuild their lives.

Karen Bird, president and founder of Nakehndan: Knowing Your Truth, shared her gratitude for the community’s support.

“We deeply appreciate the connections we have made in the Sault Ste. Marie and with local businesses, including OK Tire, whose generosity helps us continue our vital work. As a young organization, we rely on the support of our community to create a lasting impact on the lives and well-being of those we serve. Thank you for helping us create a better future for our customers and our region.

Frank Bitonti, Director of OK Tire, expressed his pride in supporting such an important cause: “We are honored to contribute to Nakehndan: Knowing Your Truth and their important work with survivors of sexual assault. The Buck-a-Tire campaign has raised nearly $20,000 since its launch, and it is incredibly rewarding to see the positive difference it can make in our community.

Nakehndan: Knowing your truth continues to make a difference in the lives of sexual assault survivors and their families, providing essential support services and creating opportunities for healing. “We are proud to be part of this community and appreciate all the support we have received,” said Michael Bitonti, Director at OK Tires. “Nakehndan’s work is so important and we are grateful to be able to contribute to their efforts. »
